Professor Stephen D. Schuette received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Bradley University.  His industry experience began with Stoller and Maurer Construction Company. He has been an expert witness on several cases involving scheduling and construction cost claims, and is currently on the Board of Directors of Anson Industries.  He began his teaching career at Auburn University as an Assistant Professor.  In 1985 he accepted an Associate Professor position at Clemson and in 1992, moved to Purdue as the Department Head and Professor. He served as Department Head until 2006 and continues to teach at Purdue.Steve served as the President of the Associated Schools of Construction from 1993 to 1995 and as a Region Director and National Board member from 1988 to 1993.  His experience, thoughtful insights and leadership skills has greatly impacted ASC.  Through Steve’s ability to communicate and his understanding of ASC’s purposes and direction, he was able to give remarkable guidance and direction to this developing organization.  He serves as a member of ASC’s leadership council and provides insight and counsel to many of ASC’s leadership. He has been a mentor, not only to numerous individuals in ASC, but also, to many emerging CM programs and departments.

His service to construction education extends to the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) where he has served on National Education Committee since 1992.  He was a member of AGC’s Education and Research Foundation Board from 1994 to 2000.  He has been a member of the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) since 1985 and had been the visiting team chair on 14 accreditation visits.

His influence on ASC has made a great impact which is and will continue to be felt for many years.
